While the pre-lit artificial Christmas tree is a great option to save you time decorating. Not everyone has a pre-lit tree and only a traditional one. To create a magical display on your tree, it must have lights. Today we will show you how to hang lights on your tree to brighten up your living space this Christmas.
Decorating Your Christmas Tree With Lights
If you want this year to be merry and very bright, it helps to place tree lights on your tree. Here are some essential things to remember before you start. The first thing is to decide on your theme to get that perfect look.
Then look at your color scheme and the position of your tree to ensure it is close to a socket. Another helpful tip is using small pegs to clip your lights into the tree. How many lights you choose will also depend on the size of your tree.
But the general rule is 100 to 150 lights for every foot-and-a-half of your tree. You need between 400 to 600 lights if you have a six-foot tree for a seven-foot one between 500 to 700. If you have an eight-foot tree, the best is to use 600 to 800 lights.
Lastly, a nine-foot tree will need between 700 to 900 lights.
Hanging Your Christmas Lights
To decorate tree lights, you can do it in four different ways. The first is to start from the top, working your way down to the bottom. Start at the top and weave your way down, working through the branches above and below.
Place your lights at the front and back for depth on your tree as you work. Once you reach the bottom, you can hide the lights left behind your tree or make another pass. Alternatively, you can work your way from the bottom to the top.
Plug your lights in as it helps with their distribution. Then wrap the lights around the branches working your way up. You can zigzag your way up in sections to give a better spread when you loop them around the tree.
Once completed, move to the next section until you reach the top. Then wrap the lights around the tip of the tree underneath your tree topper. The following is doing it horizontally, starting at the top or bottom of your artificial Christmas tree.
You can do this by winding the cable anti or clockwise, positioning the light on the edges and deeper into your tree. When completing the winding on one loop, raise the cable and do another until done. Lastly, you can go the vertical ways with your lights.
It will give your tree a modern look, and you need to start at the top with the end of your lights decorating zigzag vertically. Remember to take the end of the cable without the plug when you begin.
Start laying the cable vertically down to the bottom. When you reach the bottom, you can loop the lights around your lower branches and work your way back up to the top, forming a U-shape. When reaching the top, do the same until you have no cable left.
As you can see, you can use any of these methods to decorate your tree. But if it is too much work, you can always invest in a pre-lit artificial Christmas tree.
